Pinot Noir Vespidae

- Pinot Noir
Vespidae – the Latin name of the wasp family – is the cornerstone bottling from J.K. Carriere, purposefully blended to result in a Pinot Noir that is seamless and balanced, telling the story of the vintage year and the vineyards represented within. The blend of Willamette Valley vineyards can vary, but most often is lead by our own St. Dolores Estate (Chehalem Mountains AVA), followed by contributions from old-vine, high-elevation Temperance Hill (Eola Hills-Amity AVA) and vigorous Gemini Vineyard (Laurelwood AVA). The grapes are wild-yeast fermented in wood and stainless steel, 100% barrel aged for 15 months in older French Oak, then bottled unfined and unfiltered. The knife-edge balance between power and grace is the guiding principle for the wine.
